David Hicks
Aussie born and raised, is coming back to Australia soon after spending 5 years as prisoner at Guantanamo Bay without charges or trial, he just plead guilty and the reason is he could get home faster then if he plead innocent and I'm sure 5 years in that hell was long enough to make you say anything.
He will serve out another 9 months.
What kind of deal had Hicks made? Did he offer to provide the names of hidden terrorists in the United States? Did he reveal Osama's secret hiding place? Did he help foil one of those vaguely-defined plots Bush is always alluding to?

Just what could a man who supposedly was involved in plotting attacks against the west both with the Taliban and al Qaeda have to offer? His silence.
Mr Downer rejected suggestions the sentence, which includes a 12-month gag order, was made for the convenience of the government in an election year.

It reminds of a pedifile that tells the child "You must not tell what happened or I will come back and get you"

Mom lost her oldest friend the other day. Harvey passed away in his sleep.
