Not much to do in Honolulu but lie on the beach! I took the "tram" (it's really a bus) tour which was quite interesting - I got into an argument with the driver about labour unions! There was some strike on, that he commented on, and eventually the whole bus joined in. Most people assumed that because they were on strike, the unions must have broken their contract. Turned out that it was the employers who had. But he also made some interesting comments on the housing situation there - it is very expensive and you can only get public housing if you are unemployed - once you get a job you are kicked out and if you have no savings to pay the deposit on an apt, then you're homeless. It was 10 years ago, but I guess it hasn't changed.
