Dick Cheney is flying into Sydney this evening but not before the NSW government had to change the firearms laws so that his Secret Service guys could carry their guns.
He said he would have to give Sydney a miss unless they changed the laws. Look out Sydney the man who shot one of his friends in the face is going to be fully armed.
You asked for him and now you are getting him.
Boy he's sure an important man!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I want to make a sign that says" Please Dick don't shoot me" but my friends at work don't want me to end up in jail. so I guess I'll pass on protesting while Dick is here.
=(

Date: 2007-02-22 09:35 am (UTC)There are signs up all over the place warning of traffic disruptions and then police warnings on the news that people who disrupt citizens going about their normal business will be arrested. But they only mean protesters, not Cheney.

Date: 2007-02-23 04:40 am (UTC)Kaja without prejudice to anyone, I feel that law preventing the security chaps of heads of state or their "significant other" (heh!) is retrograde.
In the UK only the US secret service can bring their fire arms in. If they don't then your President will not enter.
Whereas if the heads of state of any other country arrive their security have to drop their weapons off at the airport (I presume).
So you have this perfectly idiotic state where the Indian PM arrives with his high security entourage (after the Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi assassinations they are crazy about protecting our top leaders) who have to drop their weapons off. And then take the protection of the UK police.
Silly I tell you.
