Ok so I broke all rules and had an American Breakfast with Bacon and biscuits.

I couldn't even eat 1/2 of it. I'm just amazed how much food you are served over there! It was a heart attack on a plate (this was on the way home from the airport). Torfinn and Emilie don't eat like this but I lead them astray that morning because I had to have a crazy breakfast that I thought I was craving. I do have to say the potato's were wonderful and so was the biscuit but the eggs felt heavy and the bacon was nothing like I remembered. I was glad I tried it because now I will never think of it again. I felt so guilty afterward Sorry [livejournal.com profile] kytty I must seem like a slime ball after that! But it won't happen again, I learned my lesson.
Monday found us just resting and talking. Emilie gave me a tour of the house.
They live in a beautiful neighborhood in a two story home with very large rooms.

Downstairs there is the living room, dining room, Huge kitchen with walk in pantry the size of a bath room, a nice study, laundry and a 1/2 bath. Upstairs they have a full bath, 3 very large bedrooms (Master with walk in closet) and a lovely balcony looking over the back yard. There are several squirrels that live in the front trees.

Looking across the street

Anyway it's really nice and the rent is very reasonable for them. I was pretty tired plus still feeling sick but to excited to sleep I did lay around with my feet up. Emilie had to work for a few hours so I went with Torfinn to drop her off.
The streets were so wide!

I was amazed after living in drought how water was used in Portland. The bubblers (drinking fountains) run nonstop, I saw pressure washers being used on the brickwork downtown to clean. It was hard seeing all that water go to waste. If I would have been smart this would have been the day I bought a disposable phone!!! I was thinking the condo would have one though. Anyway after picking up Emilie, I was dying for a good Mexican feast!
So we went to a place not far from where they lived. The food was good but the waiters and the decor was a little creepy. (strange things hanging from the ceiling including taxidermy animals. (no photo of the dead animals) this could really take away ones appetite. Only problem was they didn't seem to have anything Vegetarian and the waitress made it sound like it was impossible to not add meat to anything! grrrrrrrrr What about bean dishes???
I love love love fresh made chips and a good salsa!

Funny I can't even remember what I had! haha

I had a good nights rest that night. It felt good to be back in Portland. And I was growing very fond of my daughter-in-law to be.

Yes SW Portland but I don't know the name of the place we ate.
Torfinn and Emilie had never been there before. The place they wanted to take me was closed on Monday nights. I think that was Esparza's

Yeah Esparza's was one of my favorite places - I lived in NE (Irvington/Fremont) but would go to SE to eat a lot. I am getting homesick! Do you miss Portland?

I miss it more then I thought I did.
I really believe it's the best city to live in the states.
I knew it would be green but damn it was so beautiful!
